70-Year-Old Woman Burnt To Death Over Witchcraft In Kenya

A 70-year old woman was yesterday lynched by angry residents in Kisii after she was accused of bewitching a young man in the village....

The woman is said to have cast an evil spell on the man making him have a miserable life. Sources said that despite his age of 30, the man showed no interest to women and did not progress in life, a factor that was caused by the evil woman.
Fed up with her behaviours, the angry villagers stormed her house in the evening and demanded to ransack it. She refused saying that she had not stolen from anyone and that they did not have a right to check her house.

They accused her of witchcraft and mentioned a number of cases she was involved in. They claimed that she had been behind a series of deaths that occurred in the village including that of her own husband.

They frog marched her to the nearest trading center for all to see before lynching her.

The area's Assistant Chief who confirmed the incident condemned it terming it inhuman. He wondered how one could be killed without any solid evidence. He promised to take legal action on all those who took part in the exercise.

Drama As Female Fraud Suspect Collapse In Court

There was confusion at a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Sabo, Lagos on Tuesday after Mrs. Pearl Nwashali, a  48-year-old suspect standing trial for fraud, slumped moments after she was called into the dock.

“I still very much believe that the defendant and her counsel are deceiving the court. The court also believes that the defendant is not prepared to settle the claimants but deceiving the court with the concurrence of her counsel."
The magistrate, Mrs. Folarin William, said this while describing the fainting incident as “a drama intended to deceive the court and pervert the course of justice.”
Anyway, it took the intervention of the registrar, warders and some people in the court to avert what seemed like an unfolding tragedy. She was later taken out of the dock to a seat.

Following the incident, her defense counsel, Mrs. A.U Onyeagura, to ask the court for an adjournment.

When the case was recalled minutes later, both the woman and her counsel were no longer in court.

Magistrate Folarin William thus stood down the case. She observed that the defendant had been coming up with different excuses and tricks since the matter started in April 2012 to avoid paying the claimants their money.

She said, “The court wonders if the money was ready, and whether the defendant would have paid the complainants today as she had promised since April, 30, 2013, if she had not fainted? Now that the case is recalled, there is no defendant in court and no counsel for her.”

You may wish to know that Mrs Nwashali had been arraigned since 2012 on 4 counts of fraud, stealing.

She defrauded two women, Philomena Eguenu and Osinowo Oluwatoyin of N1m after calling the duo to Victoria Island, Lagos to inspect and buy a shipload of oil product. She also issued a dud GT Bank cheque worth N500,000 to another person, Adegboyega Kolade.

Mrs Nwashalishi, through her defence counsel, A.U Onyeagura, had promised to settle the complainants and at a time, said cheques had been written.
But she keeps coming up with different tricks to avoid paying the money.

13-Year-Old Indian Girl In UK Stuns The World With IQ Higher Than Einstein’s

Neha Ramu

A 13-year-old Indian girl Neha Ramu astonished the world after she scored an incredible 162 on a Mensa IQ test in the UK.

The highest score possible for someone under 18 years of age, this led a spokesperson for British Mensa to say, “This puts her within the top 1 per cent of brightest people in the country.”
Neha Ramu was born on May 8, 2000 in Bangalore to mother Jayashree and father Ramu Muniraju – both doctors in ophthalmology. They moved to the UK in 2007, and she joined Westbourne Primary School in Sutton.

Experts believe that the achievement means Neha Ramu is in the same league of outstanding minds such as scientist Albert Einstein and physicist Stephen Hawking.

Albert Einstein
Ramu is now part of the elite group called the Mensa society, an exclusive club for people with high IQs. The IQ test is designed to evaluate a range of abilities to determine the intelligence level of the student.

A seventh grade student at Tiffin Girls School, Kingston upon Thames in Greater London, Ramu’s Mensa score was the latest in a series of high achieving performances. Crediting her doctor parents, she says: “They find amazing opportunities for me, which allow me to stretch myself and take my knowledge further without stressing myself out.”

For instance, in 2010, Ramu became an online member of Johns Hopkins’ Centre for Talented Youth (CTY), Baltimore.

Earlier this year, she appeared for the standardised test for 17-18 year-olds and came out with a high score of 740/800. She became eligible to be a part of special three-week programme, which provided her an insight into the workings of the nervous system. This, in turn, made her resolve firm to one day become a doctor.

MUST SEE: British singer Labrinth, falls after he Jumped into the crowd and fans refused to catch him (Photos)

This is another funny one. British singer Labrinth who is famous for his songs "Earth quake and Beneath your Beautiful was performing at University of Kent summer ball when he decided to jump into the crowd.
The beautiful part is, they didn't catch him and he fell face flat into the crowd...the sad part is, he didn't fall alone as he took several students down with him.
One student caught in the crush said: “Where me and [another student] were standing we didn’t actually see him jump, we just saw everyone falling back and then we were literally stuck under four other guys! It was so painful!“I can’t really walk after last night.”

Miguel tried this stunt at the 2013 Billboard awards, and might be sued for landing on a girl's head(They awaiting a doctor's report as they fear it caused her brain damage)
.
Lol what's with Jumping on fans? They paid to watch you sing, not fly on them. I trust my naija celebs not to try and jump in the crowd like this
Photos after the cut..

NYSC Member Caught Rapǐng A Female Student

Gone are the good days when people treat Corpers with courtesy and sometimes feed them free of charge. These days, it is common to see young guys serving Nigeria under the NYSC scheme struggling to "survive" at their place of assignment. OluFamous.Com observed that help is no long as it used to be.

The crux of the matter is that today people don't trust easily. Wearing an NYSC gear is no longer enough to be trusted. And a male Corper worsened this fear recently when he was caught...

The 26yrs old Corper, identified as Amadi Stanley, was said to have taken a 15-year-old girl, whose parent were friendly with him, saying they were going on a stroll. The girl, a secondary school student, wanted to return home after they've covered some distance, but the Corper refused and they started "dragging".
Before the teenage girl could know what was happening Corper Amadi was on top of her and he was said to have forcefully had carnal knowledge of the girl. She was later rescued from him and he was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force in Ede, Osun State, where he is posted to.
Corper Amadi was charged before an Osogbo Senior Magistrates court on Tuesday where he was charged for counts relating to abduction and rape.
Prosecutor, Meriti Wilson, told the court that Amadi committed the offence on May 24 at about 6:30pm.

When the charges were read to him, Corper Amadi pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail for N100,000 and the Magistrate adjourned the case to July 22, 2013, for trial.

Michael Jackson's Daughter Paris Says 'He Was An Incredible Father'

Paris Jackson opens up about her late father Michael Jackson in the Mail on Sunday's Event magazine.

According to the Daily Mail, the 15-year-old admits in the mag that Michael was a wonderful father and that all he wanted was to give her and her brothers Prince, now 16, and Blanket, now 11, a normal childhood.
"I have lots of memories of my father. He was an incredible father. We all loved him to death," Paris says, continuing, "He’d try to educate us as much as he could and was always looking out for us. He was very protective."

Paris goes on to explain that he wanted to give his children the childhood he never had, which explains why Michael always had them wear face masks while out in public.
"He didn’t want anyone to see what we looked like. That way we could have what he didn’t, which was a normal childhood," she shares.

Paris, Prince and Blanket have been living a life in the spotlight since Michael's death in July 2009, but Paris insists they are still a lot like any other kids, revealing she attends a public school so she can "have a normal high-school experience."
Next on Paris' list? Restoring the Neverland ranch, which she wants to bring back so that sick children can enjoy it.

"I cried and cried," Paris explains of the moment she saw the estate's Ferris Wheel was gone. "It’s beautiful there," she adds, "It still has good energy."
And her positive attitude and devotion to her father might explain why Paris aspires to be a heart surgeon.
"I want to help people," Paris simply states. "That's it."
