THE JOURNEY OF LOVE

Someone comes into your life,
Befriends you, He or she starts being so special to you,

That person becomes so close to you, He or she starts to mean everything to you, you start to miss that person, and you then realize that your life can't go on without him or her, you start missing food and sleep! Your life totally changes. That person promises you heaven on earth and He or she keeps on telling you that he/she is different from the ones you have ever had. You heart gets softened till you surrender it to that special person you call heaven sent.

Everything goes on well, you share good moments... but suddenly, he/she starts to change after getting what they wanted, He or she reduces on the texts and calls, they start to build up many excuses, That sweet heart of yours starts becoming too busy for you...You start to cry, plead and ask forgiveness but all in vain till you’re dumped and they move on.

You get heart-broken; you swear never to fall in love again. You start hating love, you start saying that all men and women are the same basing on what that heartless ex did to you, you start distrusting everyone. You live a single a life but after sometime, you start admiring your happy friends in love, loneliness squeezes you then you decide to try loving a gain. Another handsome dude or lady comes into your life, you start to think that he or she is heaven sent but still you go through the same process

Friends that’s the journey of love, No one who can escape it and no one who will never get heart broken.

So if you have someone who is treating you like a king or a queen, truly and faithfully love that person because true love is hard to find. Do whatever it takes for both of you to last longer. Don’t easily dump that person because of minor disagreements. Call or text that person, meet him or her and apologize.

Value that person’s effort and everything he or she sacrifices for you. Don’t take that person’s love for granted because someone out there yearns for that person’s love and care. They long to replace you one day. Think about it most especially YOU reading this.

A MUST READ! This Is How To Live Your Life Right

When I stumbled on the information below, the first thing that came to my mind was a verse in one of Tuface Idibia's song which says "Malo ro pe, omo kpe iwo nikan lo ma lowo" which literally translate to mean that "you should not carry yourself too big, thinking that you're the only that will make money".

Below is a very interesting short piece to bring you back to the reality of life:
U used BlackBerry to oppress, now everybody has a BlackBerry.

Humility is the way of the wise!!!

Why Jonathan Should Fire FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed

FCT New Transport Policy: Mr. President, Can You Please Fire Bala Mohammed?

One of the attributes attached to Nigeria is that it possesses Natural and Human resources in large quantity. Considering this accolade, it hurts deeply to see some of our leaders come on board with a perceptible lack of clairvoyance. Their performance makes one meditate upon which category best suits them; a gift or burden to the nation...

In December 2012, speculations were rife that the Federal Capital Territoty Authority, FCTA, under the control of Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed, was set to put in place a new transport policy for the nation’s capital.

In January, the plan was announced via a release by the Minister’s press secretary, Mohammed Sule. The statement quoted Ms. Jamilah Tangaza, Bala’s Senior Special Assistant on Information Management Systems, as saying that the FCTA came up with the policy “to sanitize the system and get Abuja working by the year 2020.” In order words (and judging by recent events), we are attempting to become Africa’s London, while our people turn into slaves in their own land.

I doubt if Tangaza or her boss is/are aware that the comment is a slight on their overall Oga at the Top, President Goodluck Jonathan, who usually takes pride in describing Abuja as a model city. Well, Mr. Jona so you know; the time for pop Champagne is still seven years away.

Continuing, madam explained that the policy entail a restriction of operations of mini-buses, commonly called ‘Araba’, to certain routes and the high-capacity ones to other routes. Presently, the red-colored buses are about 350, whereas the least we need is 1000!

In mid-January through February, the order was enforced. The mini-buses were disallowed entry into Abuja, while the ones operating from within were dissipated. The condemnable decision, which caught everyone unawares, was later halted to allow for more consultations.

Fast-forward to May 2 2013, Secretary of Transport Secretariat of the FCTA, Jonathan Ivoke, said Bala had approved June 3 2013, as commencement for the restriction. At a press conference, the reasons he offered goes thus: “The policy is to move people en-masse, reduce waste of time in the traffic and improve the economy.” I for one will not decide whether this is a sound of wisdom, but does his pretext portray him as someone capable to hold the title of his office? With the intention of proving that Ivoke’s view is everything but sagacious, I will argue all of his justification.

My take on reason One: Simple reasoning helps us to comprehend that the more vehicles you have on the road, the more people you are able to convey people from one destination to another. In case Ivoke is in the dark, the buses Bala provided are way too small to ameliorate harsh conditions faced by the helpless commuters. Months after the ministry promised that more would soon be delivered, they are yet to arrive. Furthermore, isn’t it safe to conclude that his assurance that private players were ready to invest was a daylight scam?

My take on reason Two: How would your time not waste when you now have to pray for good fortune just to get transported ASAP. Also, the assumption that the ban will ease traffic is unsatisfactory. How can there be reduced gridlock when every car owner now drives, while many others are contemplating acquiring theirs?

My take on reason Three: Which economy prospers when the people are depressed and discouraged? Which economy prospers when the people are tired out and less-spirited? Which economy prospers when the people suffer acute headache due to the stress they contend with every morning and night? It is only in Nigeria everyone in government suddenly becomes an economist whenever they are trying to outline merits of even a draconian policy.

Personally, I see no reason why Bala and his Federal people hastily imposed this vexatious policy on law-abiding hustlers. The mad rush for vision 20:2020 will lead us to catastrophe if we are not careful. Can’t we just achieve the ones we can and re-strategize on others?

We all agree that as the capital of the largest Black Country on the planet, the city and its districts must be world-class. However, you don't make us suffer in the process. It is glaring that the idea is a right one with a wrong timing. Any sane human wants to see development, but would it not be perfect if adequate measures were put in place to cushion the effect of the impact that may arise from such? Why the haste? Why strangulate the electorate? Is the Minister trying to please Jonathan at all cost to retain his post?

Bala has been in this regime since April 6, 2010. Between then and now, this man had sufficient time to begin preparations for his initiative. Let us assume that all he did in his first year in office was award contracts, attest to land documents and campaign for his boss’s election. Things went well and Mr. President was re-elected, while the Minister retained his job.

Sadly, two years down the line, the best Bala could do is procuring a third of the minimum number of buses required to ferry residents. Two years down the line, Bala is just constructing parking spaces including the ongoing one at Nyanya for use of the high-capacity buses. Two years down the line, how many laudable projects has Bala commissioned in remote areas? If he had done this, the pressure on the main city would have been greatly reduced.

FCTA asserts that it consulted widely before implementing the policy but for how long did it confer? The problem with high-ranking officials in this clime is bigheadedness; everyone wants to do this and that without first taking time to address the consequence it would have on the people.

FCTA in addition claims that before concluding on the policy, it assembled the executive committees of several Unions of Road Transport to discuss the development. However, it is on record that there is now distrust within most of them as not all members gave assent to the idea. There are also allegations that the FCT ministry to ensure its plans sails through induced members of the various bodies operating in the sector with financial rewards. To buttress this, not a few of the Araba drivers who protested against the policy, accused their respective unions of betrayal.

FCTA informed Abuja residents that the mini-buses would operate in satellite towns, but the world should ask Bala to present the good roads and street lights he fixed in those places. Go to the inner part of Zuba to Dutse; Kado to Galadima; Kubwa village to Bwari; Lugbe village to Kuchigoro; Karimo to Gwagwalada; Nyanya to Ado; Kuje to Apo; Kabusa to Dakwo village; Mpape to Abaji; Deidei to Karimo; Gwagwa to Galadimawa; Lokogoma village to Kwali and see things firsthand. I find it hard to fathom why a government that is keen on achieving a mega-city status would abandon its inner settlements. For crying out loud, these are where citizens in the middle and lower class reside.

Rather than commit funds to these glorified slums FCT is always proud to list as protectorates, Bala is ready to kick the bucket so that her godmother Mrs. Patience Jonathan can get the N4 billion for a totally needless ‘Peace Mission’ project. Thank goodness Senator Smart Adeyemi and others struck out the rubbish.

Already, Rights’ Groups including Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) have described the policy as “inhumane”. It is very painful that those occupying seats of authority can be this self-centered; they care less about others since they live in choice apartments and move about in expensive cars and Jeeps, while those they claim to serve groan in untold hardship.

More sickening is when people in control involve the Supreme Being as though they abide by His commandments. I can recollect an interview in which the helmsman of Abuja said that “God’s willing, our drive to make Abuja a global reference point will be achieved.” Imagine that! He has the guts to seek God’s intervention when he has failed to do what is necessary to ease the adversity of: thousands of children who struggle to get to school every day; the pregnant women and nursing mothers who join in the rush so as to make it to the hospital in time for their ante and post-natal care; the aged and the sick who are too frail to jostle with others at bus-stops.

Like my ‘Kegites’ friends say, even the devil can quote the Holy Books. It is easy for Bala to call God’s name when he has never felt the long torturous trek from Zone 2 or Zone 3 down to Sky Memorial Plaza or Berger roundabout to get a bus.

Mr. President, you need to hear what the masses are saying about you and this policy. The name they know is ‘Goodluck Jonathan’ not ‘Bala Mohammed’; he is an appointee while you were elected. If you allow him continue to soil your name, na you sabi. You better do yourself and the poor people of Abuja some good by dropping Bala from your cabinet. Let him go and begin campaign in earnest for his Bauchi gubernatorial ambition.

Failure to heed this advice would not only further impair the image of your administration, but also make you lose more supporters in the nation's capital.

THE 4 WIFES - An Inspirational Story

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wifes. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and infact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be

Thus, he asked the 4th wife,"I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife andshe walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?""No!"replied the 3rd wife."Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife,"Ialways turned to you for helpand you've always helped meout. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"

'Every man and woman has four wives or husbands. What do these wives signify?'

*THE FOURTH WIFE
The 4th 'wife' is our body. We love our body day and night. In the morning, we wash our face, put on clothing and shoes. We give food to our body. We take care of our body like the fourth wife in this story. But unfortunately, at the end of our life, the body, the first 'wife' cannot follow us to the next world. As it is stated in a commentary, 'When the last breath leaves our body, the healthy color of the face is transformed, and we lose the appearance of radiant life. Our loved ones may gather around and lament, but to no avail. When such an event occurs, the body is sent into an open field and cremated, leaving only the white ashes.'This is the destination of our body.

*THE THiRD WiFE
Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.

*THE SECOND WiFE
The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

*THE FiRST WiFE
The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.

A Mother sacrifice for her child

After the Earthquake had subsided, when the rescuers reached the ruins of a young woman’s house, they saw her dead body through the cracks. But her pose was somehow strange that she knelt on her knees like a person was worshiping; her body was leaning forward, and her two hands were supporting by an object. The collapsed house had crashed her back and her head.

With so many difficulties, the leader of the rescuer team put his hand through a narrow gap on the wall to reach the woman’s body. He was hoping that this woman could be still alive. However, the cold and stiff body told him that she had passed away for sure.

He and the rest of the team left this house and were going to search the next collapsed building. For some reasons, the team leader was driven by a compelling force to go back to the ruin house of the dead woman. Again, he knelt down and used his had through the narrow cracks to search the little space under the dead body. Suddenly, he screamed with excitement,” A child! There is a child! “

The whole team worked together; carefully they removed the piles of ruined objects around the dead woman. There was a 3 months old little boy wrapped in a flowery blanket under his mother’s dead body. Obviously, the woman had made an ultimate sacrifice for saving her son. When her house was falling, she used her body to make a cover to protect her son. The little boy was still sleeping peacefully when the team leader picked him up.

The medical doctor came quickly to exam the little boy. After he opened the blanket, he saw a cell phone inside the blanket. There was a text message on the screen. It said,” If you can survive, you must remember that I love you.” This cell phone was passing around from one hand to another. Every body that read the message wept. ” If you can survive, you must remember that I love you.” Such is the mother’s love for her child...

Heart Touching Story

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water.

She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?" "You don't owe me anything," she replied "Mother has taught us never to accept payment for a kindness." He said... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt; stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Years later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation.

When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her.

He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval.

He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally, she looked, and something caught her attention on the side as she read these words...... " Paid in full with one glass of milk." (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, GOD, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands."

Why I Cried In Public – Buhari

Former military head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) has said that he had to weep in public because of the hardships Nigerians suffer despite the enormous wealth the country is blessed with.

Buhari, who spoke in a radio interview in Kano yesterday, blamed the bad leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the country’s numerous woes.

“I joined politics on two grounds: first was, after I was out of the prison, people asked me to join politics, perhaps they saw the potential in me; the second was, the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the changes it brought about compelled me to join politics and based on multi-party system if justice will be done to all,” Buhari said.

He described as embarrassing the outcome of the recent election in the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) which is enmeshed in leadership tussle.

PDP Suspends Governor Because He Allegedly Didn’t Pick Bamanga Tukur’s Call

News emerging state that the reason for PDP's suspension of Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state was allegedly due to the Governor not picking up phone calls from Bamanga Tukur, the PDP National Chairman.

In a statement released in Abuja on Thursday, PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh claimed the Wamakko was suspended because when Tukur called to ask him (Wamakko) to explain his recent comments, he (Tukur) was unable to reach him.

The Party said a letter was written to Governor Wamakko but was responded to by the PDP state Secretary; and this act, the PDP and Presidency regard as an insult, hence the decision to suspend the governor.

Governor Wamakko is out of the country on an official trip and he says he's sure the government knows and a source hinted that Wamakko will “react” on his return.

Chelsea Release Florent Malouda, Paulo Ferreira And Yossi Benayoun

Florent Malouda and Paulo Ferreira are among the high-profile players who will leave Chelsea this summer.

France winger Malouda and Portugal full-back Ferreira will not be retained when their contracts are up at the end of the month.

And the list of departures also includes Yossi Benayoun and goalkeepers Ross Turnbull and Hilario.
Malouda was a second-half substitute in Chelsea's Champions League final triumph against Bayern Munich little more than a year ago, but that proved to be his final appearance for the club.
The 32-year-old, who made 230 appearances following a £13.5m move from Lyon in 2007, was not even given a squad number this season.

Ferreira's exit comes after a nine-year spell featuring three Premier League title wins while Benayoun, who returned to Stamford Bridge last season after a year at Arsenal, did not convince the Chelsea hierarchy he was worth a new deal.

The departures of Turnbull and Hilario, meanwhile, will inevitably lead to speculation over the future of Thibaut Courtois.

The young Belgian keeper has spent the past two seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid and said recently he would like to stay in Spain for a third year.

I Was Forced At Gun Point To Participate In Killing of Policemen – Jackson Fabouwei

The military on Friday said they had arrested the “mastermind” of an April attack that killed 11 policemen and raised fears of worsening tension in a crucial oil region.

The arrested militant leader, Jackson Fabouwei aka Jasper Junior, Friday revealed he took part in the killing of eleven policemen last April in the creek of Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State.

Fabouwei who spoke to newsmen at the Sector command of the Joint Task Force codenamed Operation Pulo Shield after his arrest said he was forced at gun point to participate in the killing of the policemen.
He said, “the killing was led by General Virus and carried out with seven AK 47 guns and Kala gun stolen from the country home of their former leader, known as Young Shall Grow.”
He added, “As a surveillance contractor, I had MG 3 Machine gun and we gathered at Lobia market to launch the attack on the policemen.

“We positioned at the market and waited for the boat convoy of the burial procession for the mother of the ex-militant leader.
The Policemen boat came to the jetty, but General Virus insisted that the policemen should be killed and we opened fire on them.

“When we came down from the shooting point, we saw that one was injured while others were killed. I pleaded and asked that we save the lives of the ones that were not dead but Virus said Young Shall Grow has offended them many times and the policemen must be executed. He was also the one that ordered that we pour them fuel and burn them.”
Jackson Fabouwei was presented to journalists in the oil hub of Yenagoa and backed previous reports that the shootings were linked to a dispute over government payments to ex-oil rebels.
“He was arrested on the 6th of June… through sound intelligence gathering efforts,” Colonel Farouk Yahaya of the military’s Joint Task Force said.

He described Fabouwei as “the mastermind” of the deadly raid.
The attack in the Niger Delta targeted an ex-militant leader turned government advisor who was being escorted by security agents to his mother’s funeral when gunmen opened fire on their convoy of boats.
The target, Kile Selky Torughedi, widely known by the moniker Young Shall Grow, was a prominent militant in the insurgency that for years crippled the oil sector in Africa’s largest producer.
A 2009 amnesty deal that saw huge payouts to ex-militants significantly curbed the unrest.
But the attack on Torughedi warned that tensions persist, including among former insurgents over how to divide the government cash.
Fabouwei denied that he planned the shootings.
He said the leader of his gang, identified as “General Virus”, ordered the attack on Torughedi because he was hoarding amnesty funds.

“General Virus told us he has not been giving amnesty money,” Fabouwei told reporters.
Police had previously said the attack was motivated by a dispute over amnesty payouts.
Young Shall Grow had also been appointed a security advisor to the area governor.
Sporadic violence has continued in the Niger Delta since the amnesty, including waves of kidnappings targeting foreign oil workers, with the hostages typically released following a ransom payment.
Analysts have warned that unrest in the region could intensify if the amnesty payments are scaled back.

70-Year-Old Woman Burnt To Death Over Witchcraft In Kenya

A 70-year old woman was yesterday lynched by angry residents in Kisii after she was accused of bewitching a young man in the village....

The woman is said to have cast an evil spell on the man making him have a miserable life. Sources said that despite his age of 30, the man showed no interest to women and did not progress in life, a factor that was caused by the evil woman.
Fed up with her behaviours, the angry villagers stormed her house in the evening and demanded to ransack it. She refused saying that she had not stolen from anyone and that they did not have a right to check her house.

They accused her of witchcraft and mentioned a number of cases she was involved in. They claimed that she had been behind a series of deaths that occurred in the village including that of her own husband.

They frog marched her to the nearest trading center for all to see before lynching her.

The area's Assistant Chief who confirmed the incident condemned it terming it inhuman. He wondered how one could be killed without any solid evidence. He promised to take legal action on all those who took part in the exercise.

Is Fashola's Second Term In Lagos A Failure?

The celebrated Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, is in his second term in office. The governor, who came into office in 2007, has spent six years of his eight-year tenure. But the lawyer turned politician does not like to count his years in office. He has since assumption of office preferred to measure his stewardship as the chief executive of Nigeria’s most important state in the days he has spent as governor.

Although it appears Fashola is cruising comfortably as the state’s number one citizen, it has not always been a smooth ride...
In 2007, against all opposition from all the major contenders in his party, the governor emerged to fly his party’s flag in the governorship election of that year.

He, of course, owed his emergence to his predecessor and leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, who stood his ground and fought off other candidates. Tinubu practically imposed the incumbent on the party. Many had thought then that the unknown Fashola stood no chance in the highly volatile political terrain of Lagos both as a candidate and as a potential governor. But he won the election and no sooner did he settle down to business of governing the state.

Within 100 days of his assumption of office, residents had begun to feel the positive impact of his leadership. Before the expiration of his first 100 days, the entire Lagos had been turned into a huge construction site. The city, which had suffered systemic decay for several years, seemed to come alive again. He consolidated on the development blueprint of his predecessor. Everywhere one turned, the impact of the government was felt. In his first term, Fashola governed with passion. He seemed like a reconstruction leader after a major war. He was seen everywhere in the city. If he was not breaking ground for a new project, he was inspecting a road construction.

All the major roads started by the Tinubu administration were completed under his administration. The Lekki-Epe Expressway, the Badagry road expansion and railway project were started. At a time, the governor visited Canada to inspect rail coaches. Many road projects were completed and old ones refurbished. Potholes were filled through direct labour. One symbolic image of Fashola’s first term was his trademark safety helmet and rain boots. If he was not trudging through mud and flood water to empathise with a flooded community or dredging of canals, he was seen touring remote areas to gain first-hand insights into problems faced by the residents.

Fashola also transformed the once filthy Lagos environment. Before 1999, the city had, apart from being notorious, become the world’s dirtiest capital. But Fashola soon began the re-designing of the entire landscape with flowers adorning roads and major highways. Another notable achievement of that era was the recovery of public space. Public parks, which had become havens for criminals and the destitute were restored. In Oshodi, for example, the space under the bridge of the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway and airport bypass was home to the cannibal, Clifford Orji. The Fashola administration has since turned the spaces into reaction parks. The innovative waste management policy of Fashola’s first term also ensured that waste disposal became an important priority of the government. The administration collaborated with the private sector to manage the huge volumes of waste generated daily. Also, dumps like the one in Ojota which had become health hazards to residents were cleared and turned to recycling centres.
Many also praised the governor for making Lagos largely habitable. No one who lived in this city pre-1999 would be quick to forget how dangerous Lagos roads had become. Driving against the traffic was the norm. But the introduction of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency and strict traffic regulations ended the reign of impunity. Observance of pedestrian walk, zebra crossing and other road signs was strictly enforced. The governor also addressed the chaotic transport situation. The Bus Rapid Transit and taxis and demarcation of lanes made commuting easier. The construction of flyovers and rehabilitating of old ones reduced pedestrian deaths. The governor himself had several encounters with traffic rules violators whom he personally apprehended. Fashola was your quintessential action governor

Fashola’s first term also saw a drastic reduction in the crime rate. The Lagos Security Trust Fund initiative with the private sector made resources available to the police. This helped to effectively combat crime in the state and the listing of Lagos as a crime free state. The image of a hard-working and visionary governor captivated the imagination of residents and other Nigerians. Fashola cut the picture of a leader who rather than stay in the comfort of his office preferred to visit project sites. Legends had it that the governor often drove himself surreptitiously at night to inspect project sites. His first term also earned him many accolades and awards both nationally and internationally. His achievements became the benchmark to assess other governors. There were also tales of fellow governors who sought his advice on how to replicate his successful models in their states. At the National Council of State meetings, Fashola was said to be the darling of his colleagues.

It has been widely acknowledged that Fashola’s exemplary performance stood him out in his first term. But can that be said of his second term? Is he still as passionate as he was in his first term? Does he still possess the drive to transform Lagos into a dream megacity comparable to some of the best in the world? In 2007, it took him just a few months to begin the overhaul of this city. In his second term, he was criticised for his slow approach. Were his critics justified? In my own view, while acknowledging the impact of his visionary leadership on the state, I believe the governor needs to do more in his remaining years in office. For example, there is no excuse why Lagos roads, especially the inner city roads, should be this dilapidated. The rainy season has exposed the harsh reality of plying the roads by residents. The state of roads in some communities seems like a throw back into Stone Age that you would hardly believe you are in Lagos. The condition of Lagos inner city roads is an affront to its mega city dream. The rising crime rate should also be urgently addressed. He should do more to dismantle the perception gaining ground that his initiatives and projects are elitist and anti-poor.

There is no doubt that Fashola has so far been a success story. I also believe the governor still has his vision of transforming the state intact. He must be commended for his hard work and vision in the last six years. But governing a state like Lagos also presents daunting challenges of its own. In recent years, the city has grown exponentially in population. Existing infrastructure built only six years ago are being burdened by rapid population growth.
For example, the BRT System introduced just a few years ago has become grossly inadequate for millions of commuters. There is also pressure on the road networks which need constant expansion. These development challenges make it imperative to grant this city the much needed special status. The Federal Government must support the state to achieve its mega city dream. Lagos is Nigeria’s window on the world. The city is of global importance to Nigeria. There is no doubt that Lagos has many challenges but residents believe the governor can still do more. He has proved this already in his first term.
It is on this basis that they compare his current performance with his first four years. Has the governor truly slowed down?

Crisis Hits PDP As Another Governor Is Suspended; More To Dump The Party

Barely a week after the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sent Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi on suspension, Sokoto State governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko was on Wednesday given the same treatment, by the party's headquarters.

From what sources told OluFamous.Com, the crisis rocking the PDP is getting worse by the day as the party is now shooting itself in the foot by going after some powerful governors...

The PDP said after its 388th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja that, “The NWC notes that on several occasions Gov Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko had ignored invitations and lawful directives of the NWC in this regard and has continued to show complete apathy to the affairs of the party and contempt to an organ of the Party.

“Consequent upon the refusal of the Governor to honour yet another invitation by the NWC to appear before it today, Wednesday, June 5, 2013, without any reason, the Committee, it hereby suspends the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as a member of the party and refers the matter to the appropriate disciplinary committee of the Party.

“This is in furtherance of the determination of the leadership of the Party to enforce discipline at all levels within the Party,” the statement read.

But leadership contacted him over his suspension, Wamakko said he was unaware of it, adding that he had not been notified as he was out of the country.

From what Naijaonpoint.Com gathered, all the PDP governors who voted for Gov Rotimi Amaechi that led to him defeating Gov Jonah Jang have been penciled down for humiliation. Others who will get the hammer of the party, based on a directive by the Presidency, are governors Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), and another governor from the North East.

Meanwhile, Governor Murtala Nyako has vowed that no amount of intimidation would make him deny the candidate he voted for [Governor Amaechi] who won a free and fair election.

The targeted governors already know themselves and they are determined to surprise the ruling party.

At Last Senate Cancels Patience Jonathan's N4bn Project

Following the outcry of Nigerians, the Senate on Wednesday dropped the controversial African First Ladies’ Peace Mission House project when it passed the N259.65bn budget of the Federal Capital Territory for the 2013 fiscal year. It cancels the N4bn appropriated for it, without making any provision.

The best part is that the money has now been redeployed to develop towns in Abuja...

Presenting the budget report on Wednesday, the Chairman of Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Smart Adeyemi, said:
“It is worthy of note that the proposed appropriation for the construction of building for the African First Ladies’ Peace Mission has been distributed to meet pressing needs in the area of engineering and satellite towns.”
Recall that in February when the budget proposal was brought to the National Assembly, it contained N4bn vote for the construction of First Ladies' Mission House in Abuja, a development that attracted a lot of criticisms from members of the public.
Civil rights groups and political parties had also berated the Federal Capital Territory Administration for budgeting N4bn for the construction of the building for a non-governmental body headed by the wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan. It's seen as a sycophantic move.

Nigerian Senate, during the second reading of the bill, questioned the rationale of committing Nigeria's scarce resources to prosecute such cosmetic project when millions of Nigerians are hungry.

Drama As Female Fraud Suspect Collapse In Court

There was confusion at a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Sabo, Lagos on Tuesday after Mrs. Pearl Nwashali, a  48-year-old suspect standing trial for fraud, slumped moments after she was called into the dock.

“I still very much believe that the defendant and her counsel are deceiving the court. The court also believes that the defendant is not prepared to settle the claimants but deceiving the court with the concurrence of her counsel."
The magistrate, Mrs. Folarin William, said this while describing the fainting incident as “a drama intended to deceive the court and pervert the course of justice.”
Anyway, it took the intervention of the registrar, warders and some people in the court to avert what seemed like an unfolding tragedy. She was later taken out of the dock to a seat.

Following the incident, her defense counsel, Mrs. A.U Onyeagura, to ask the court for an adjournment.

When the case was recalled minutes later, both the woman and her counsel were no longer in court.

Magistrate Folarin William thus stood down the case. She observed that the defendant had been coming up with different excuses and tricks since the matter started in April 2012 to avoid paying the claimants their money.

She said, “The court wonders if the money was ready, and whether the defendant would have paid the complainants today as she had promised since April, 30, 2013, if she had not fainted? Now that the case is recalled, there is no defendant in court and no counsel for her.”

You may wish to know that Mrs Nwashali had been arraigned since 2012 on 4 counts of fraud, stealing.

She defrauded two women, Philomena Eguenu and Osinowo Oluwatoyin of N1m after calling the duo to Victoria Island, Lagos to inspect and buy a shipload of oil product. She also issued a dud GT Bank cheque worth N500,000 to another person, Adegboyega Kolade.

Mrs Nwashalishi, through her defence counsel, A.U Onyeagura, had promised to settle the complainants and at a time, said cheques had been written.
But she keeps coming up with different tricks to avoid paying the money.

CONFUSION!! North Kicks Against Ban Of Boko Haram

The North on Wednesday disagreed with the National Assembly on the proscription of two Islamic miltant groups – Boko Haram and Ansaru – by President Goodluck Jonathan.

While the North through its two prominent groups, the Arewa Consultative Forum and the Northern Elders Forum, faulted the ban, the National Assembly insisted that it's a welcome development...

To the ACF and the NEF, the Jonathan administration has through the ban thrown a spanner in the works in its efforts to end bloodletting in the North through amnesty for Boko Haram and Ansaru members. They said they were waiting to see how the Federal Government would address the crisis in the North.

In an interview with Punch in Kaduna, the ACF’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Anthony Sani, argued that with the ban, negotiations with Boko Haram would be difficult.

He asked, “Now that they (government) have proscribed the sect, can they now negotiate with a non-existing group?

“Before, the government told us that it was using a stick and carrot approach; that is, negotiation and state of emergency; now that they have proscribed it (Boko Haram), how will the negotiation work?

“It is the government that told us that a stick and carrot approach will work together. Now that they have gone to proscribe Boko Haram, let us see how they will apply the stick and carrot. We pray that they succeed.”

Sani wondered if the government would negotiate with members of the sect individually instead of meeting the group.

He added, “The government said they needed the emergency in order to reclaim the seized town taken over by Boko Haram. This made Nigerians, including us (ACF) to give them the go-ahead. We supported the state of emergency to reclaim seized part of the country.

“But now that they have proscribed the sect, we don’t know how they will apply the carrot. Now, how can you negotiate with an illegal entity? The group has just been proscribed. They have announced it. They are applying the stick now but we don’t know how they will apply the carrot.”

His counterpart in the NEF, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, said the proscription contradicted government’s efforts to negotiate with the sect. Abdullahi said, “But in this case, people say they don’t know what this Boko Haram is, they don’t know the members and they are trying to get the members to come out for dialogue .

“If you are looking for dialogue, you have to expect that there will be people who will come out under certain respectable conditions.

“Two things have happened simultaneously - the declaration of a state of emergency which connotes the declaration of martial law. You cannot expect somebody to come and meet soldiers under emergency conditions and now you have the proscription.”

Also, the Northern Youth Consultative Forum, NYCF, National President, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed, said “We are all intelligent. You cannot create many things at the same time: Boko Haram, amnesty committee, fighting insurgents and proscribing the group.

“How do we trust the government? Is it not the government that is messing things up? Let them tell us who Boko Haram is? Where are they?”

BREAKING! Bus Explodes Around 5-Star Hotel In Bayelsa

Pandemonium broke out in the busy Isaac Boro expressway of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, as bus carrying soft drinks suddenly exploded and caught fire around the Five Star Tower Hotel. The incident, which occurred at about 11.30am, paralyzed all traffic linking the popular Sani Abacha expressway as many were seen running for their dear life.

The blaze showed billowing clouds of black smoke from the bus...
Naijaonpoint.Com gathered that the ill-fated bus, a Mitsubishi 300, filled with crates of soft drinks and other beverages was approaching the popular roundabout close to the Five Star Hotel nearing completion when the unfortunate incident occurred.
The fire triggered panic as some thought it was terrorist attack. The driver and conductor however escaped unhurt. The driver, who simply gave his name as Uche said he heard a couple of pops before the entire bus went up in flame. The incident is now being investigated.

Actress Laide Bakare's Ex-Husband Says He Impregnated Her

Once again, you guys need to start believing Naijaonpoint.Com more these days as all my sources have been consistent in the last few weeks; they spill it out, I report it and it's confirmed. *Bingo!*

One story we've been tracking since weekend is the controversial pregnancy and baby delivery of actress, Laide Bakare, who dumped her husband for a rich guy. In the updates, from what OluFamous.Com learned, she was sleeping with another man while carrying her husband's pregnancy...

Laide Bakare traveled to the US with the surname and Green Card of the man she claimed she had divorced and was enjoying all the privilege in the name of her real (ex)-husband, Olumide Okufulure.

While Laide Bakare is claiming that the baby she delivered on Friday May 31, belongs to her new rich guy, Tunde Oriowo, her real (ex)-husband, Olumide Okufulure, said he actually impregnated her and as such the baby belongs to him.

Olumide is saying that he and Laide had intercourse several times in the last 9 months. In his words:

"I heard that my wife delivered a baby boy barely two months after she made a release that we were divorced, and she's saying that the baby belongs to one Mr. Tunde Oriowo. That's a lie, wicked lie. I'm the biological father. I have pictures to show that we were always together, but she deliberately kept the pregnancy out of my knowledge."
"In other words, it might be the result of her extra-marital affair without my knowledge, because there were cases that she would leave me and our daughter in the US, come to Nigeria all in the name of promoting her movies but staying with married men in Lagos. I couldn't monitor her because I was not always in Nigeria."
"I don't want to put laws into my hands. So, I have already notified my lawyers in the US and contacted my lawyers in Nigeria about the matter, because she has many questions to answer. If she wants to prove herself right, I challenge her to go for DNA test because that would unveil the true father of the baby."
Speaking about their marriage from his base in Washington DC, in the US, Olumide said:
"She's still my wife. We're legally married. She came to the States to deliver using my surname and my green card. It's just unfortunate she's using all the things I did for her to favour another man. So, our marriage is intact, legally. And if she wants to quit, legal action must be taken."

Stop Pretending & Do The Right Thing ––Atiku Dares Jonathan

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has challenged President Goodluck Jonathan to stop trying to get a second term in office through the back door, but rather come clean and do the right thing.

He has thus dared him to submit himself to fair presidential primaries in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, if he is popular, stressing that the automatic tickets tactically proposed by Tony Anenih are unconstitutional and capable of throwing the party into deeper crises...
During a dinner party marking the 2013 Democracy Day, Chief Anenih, the chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, proposed automatic slots for Jonathan and the party’s other governors. He said “The president and governors who are seeking their second term should be given automatic tickets to contest the second term.”

In a direct response, Atiku said in a statement issued by his media office in Abuja, “By foreclosing free and fair process of selecting its presidential candidate, the PDP might be sending the wrong message to Nigerians about its commitment to conduct free and fair elections for the entire country.”

Atiku warned that any attempt to change the party's rules so as to favour President Jonathan as a sole candidate in the event of his willingness to re-contest is unconstitutional, adding that the contest should be open to all desiring to pursue an ambition on the platform of the PDP.

Anenih’s suggestion is a reminder of the powerful anti-democracy forces within the PDP that have seen the party use rigging and manipulation to remain in power. Anenih, the party’s “Mr. Fix-It”, is known to have deployed rigging in various elections in the past.

Amaechi Explodes! Nobody Can Intimidate Me As NGF Chair

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has finally broke his silence over the lingering crisis in the Nigerian Governors' Forum. He vowed not to compromise on the second-term mandate given to him by a majority of governors at the Forum's election in Abuja on May 24.

Calling on all Nigerians to vote out bad leaders in 2015, Amaechi said, “We should ensure that we don’t allow what is happening now to affect the stance of Nigerians in the course of the 2015 democracy. We are mature enough to manage our own democracy and our own election process.”

Amaechi, who spoke when he visited the headquarters of the Nigeria Governors Forum located in Asokoro, Abuja, on Tuesday, said nobody can intimidate him. He said no need for him to step down since he was the elected Chairman. He was accompanied by Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

Amaechi was reacting to a question on whether he and his opponent in the election, Governor Jonah Jang, were ready to step down for a consensus candidate in order to bring peace to the troubled Forum.
He said, “That is the mandate that was freely given and I will stick to that mandate. I think that it is up to Nigerians to know that nothing pays more than democracy.

“The right to choose who you want to choose and the governors having made their choice, we can only do one thing but stand by the choice the governors have made.

Currently, both Amaechi and Jang are laying claim to victory in the election with each having his supporters and loyalists among their colleagues.
The Peoples Democratic Party last week suspended Amaechi over alleged anti-party activities. But analysts are of the view that he was suspended by the PDP for refusing the party's directive not to recontest the NGF Chairmanship against President Goodluck Jonathan's annointed candidate.

Boko Haram Commander Shekau To Face Trial In United States

Hunted Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, would be tried for terrorism in the United States of America or in courts of partner nations if caught, the U.S. Acting Assistant Director of Diplomatic Security Threat Investigations and Analysis Directorate, Kurt Rice, has confirmed.
“We don’t pay rewards to terrorists... The fact is that we are looking for information and when we get the information we will carefully vet it before reward is ever paid out: to be absolutely sure that the people who are worthy of the awards are not connected with terrorist organisations and they don’t ever get a cent of this money.”
Kurt Rice spoke at a joint tele-news conference with David Gilmour, Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs.

During the conference which was aired to audiences in Abuja, Lagos, Accra in Ghana, Dakar in Senegal and Niamey in Niger Republic, Kurt Rice also explained that the highest bounty of $7m was placed on Shekau because the US had “seen increases in the terrorist capabilities of the Boko Haram” under him.

On why they placed money reward for the arrest of terrorists leaders, he said “The whole exercise is to bring these people before American courts or of partner nations."

He also explained that the intent of the U.S. in offering the rewards through the Justice Programme was “to work with our Nigerian partners to try and make a more stable and secure area.”

kurt Rice expressed the hope that the capture of Shekau would “check” the deadly attacks by Boko Haram in the Northern part of Nigeria, added that the US had through the Justice programme had paid out $125m (about N19.8bn) to more than 80 people, who provided information leading to the arrests of terrorists since 1984.

What this is means is that anyone who actually provide relevant information will get the money.

How This Bad Guy Killed His Sugar Mummy In Lagos

Homicide detectives of Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, have launched a man-hunt for 27-year-old Victor Chukwuemeka Udenze from Urunebo village, Enugu-Ukwu, Anambra State over the murder of his 35-year-old lover, Ms Bianca Ndidi Okoye.

From OluFamous.Com learnt, Victor was alleged to have killed his Sugar Mummy, Ms Bianca, during a hot argument insider her apartment in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, over "money related" fight...

Elder brother of Ms Bianca, Emeka Okoye, told Crime Alert that in a desperate move to cover his act, the suspect, Victor, went away with her phones, laptop, documents and disconnected every link between him and Bianca on the social network, facebook.

Narrating the circumstances that surrounded the death of their sister Emeka Okoye said, “that fateful night on the 10th of May, 2013, our sister, a mother of two from Ogidi, Anambra state, returned to her apartment in the company of Victor, a male friend whom she had been seeing for some time before the incident. Both of them went into the deceased bedroom.

"Before she slept off that night, the deceased teenage daughter identified as Onyinye said she heard noise and exchange of threats between her mother and Victor but did not enter the bedroom, as she thought it was some private matter that would be resolved amicably, after which she slept off. Their neighbours also reported that they heard Bianca’s shouts at night but did not enter her apartment as they equally did not envisage it would lead to her death.

“It was in the morning of the next day 11th of May, 2013, that one of the neighbours asked the deceased children after their mother, to which the children said she was still asleep. The fact of Bianca’s death however dawned on them, when her children were begging their neighbours for money to enable them eat."

Begging for money
"Their neighbour’s suspicion was compounded when the children further told them that they were begging for money because their mother had been sleeping since morning. This prompted them to go over to the deceased apartment, and opened her door, only to see Bianca lying on the bed, stone dead.

"The neighbours said they tried contacting us but apart from her children living with her, they did not know any of us. However, one of them identified as Philiper saved the day because she has the GSM number of one of Bianca’s friends identified as Chioma. She contacted her and she in turn was asked to contact any of us to come and carry her body.
"That was how we were able to know what happened and when we came, we discovered that her killer was on the run.”

Speaking with Crime Alert, Chioma, late Bianca's friend, said she could not believe what she heard, because it sounded like a rude joke. This made her to place a call across to the suspect, Victor, as she has his phone number.
According to Chioma, immediately the suspect picked her call, he hurriedly asked her if any of her friends had called her. She reportedly asked him why he was asking such question and he said it had to do with the deceased, Bianca, whom he had problems with. In shock, Chioma shouted, “so it is true you have killed Bianca, you will pay for it”, and immediately, Victor switched off his phone.

Crime Alert learnt that the case was reported at Elemero police station, and policemen came from the station and took the remains of the deceased away. Autopsy carried out on Bianca’s remains revealed that she died as a result of strangulation.

The family of the deceased told the Police that a few days after the incident, the deceased documents were seen littered on a street in Enugu, Enugu State, and they don't know how the documents got there.
You may wish to know that the late Bianca Ndidi Okoye was married, but separated from her husband, and was having an affair with Victor, until the time she was killed.
